The Collections Specialist plays a critical role in managing and resolving customer accounts with outstanding balances. This position requires direct communication with customers to provide standardized payment solutions while collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate account reconciliation and the timely resolution of delinquent accounts.
This role follows a hybrid model, combining in-office and remote work. We offer flexibility in scheduling to accommodate individual needs while maintaining team collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contact customers with delinquent accounts to identify solutions and bring accounts into good standing.
Assist customers with repayment options utilizing standardized payment plans.
Generate, maintain, and monitor aging reports using internal databases.
Perform account reconciliations to ensure payment accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Collaborate with interdepartmental teams, including Sales, Customer Service, and Finance, to resolve account issues and support seamless communication.
Provide regular updates to management on collections status and escalate problematic accounts as necessary.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Demonstrate and maintain a positive customer service focus to both internal and external customers.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related financial role.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency with database systems and financial reporting tools.
Ability to perform detailed account reconciliations.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
Prior experience in interdepartmental communication and collaboration preferred.
Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.
