Job Summary
Under the direction of the Materials Manager, is responsible for obtaining favorable pricing consistent with required quantity, quality, delivery, availability and other factors on goods and services utilized in the manufacturing of our products. Based on knowledge and experience, identifies material sources and conducts required investigation and negotiations to ensure that the correct product specification can be met by the supplier at the best possible price. May prepare bid specifications, receive and review bids in conjunction with the Material Manager. Acts as a point-of-contact between vendors and the Company resolving issues with deliveries, quality and other related performance issues. Performs required analysis of material usage, trend analysis and assists in the preparation of inventory valuations. Maintains purchasing records.
