Job Description

Acciona Construction has been engaged by Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) to deliver the Link Rd project, the first phase of development to allow key access to the site and streamline logistics. This role will be on-site during construction activity.

Located at Osborne, you will have the opportunity to take on an exciting role in delivering the first stage of an important region-shaping project.

Structures Leading Hand

  • Strong background in bridge construction.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of formwork, reinforcement, and concrete pouring.

  • Experience with precast bridge components, including bridge beams and girders.

  • Proven ability to supervise and coordinate trades on-site daily.

  • Understanding of SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements) and JHA (Job Hazard Analysis).

  • Relevant tickets are desirable, such as EWP (Elevated Work Platform), working at height, and RIW (Rail Industry Worker) cards.

Civil Leading Hand

  • Sound understanding of drainage systems and the ability to work to required levels.

  • Experience in the installation of electrical conduiting.

  • Knowledge of machine guidance systems, preferably Trimble.

  • Tickets for various earthmoving plants are desirable.

  • Familiarity with Tier 1 work environments and the ability to work according to SWMS, JHA’s, and permits (mainly excavation permits).

  • Familiarity with Tier 1 environments, prioritizing safety first and production second.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • An attitude that places safety above all else

  • Experience in bridge construction, precast and components

  • Understanding all relevant aspects of Form, reo and concrete pouring

  • Hold all relevant and valid tickets and licences for your preferred position, including:

  • Construction White Card

  • Working at Heights Ticket

  • Confined Space Ticket

  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) License

  • Ideally, you will have direct experience within a construction or engineering project environment

  • General knowledge of the construction industry, engineering and environmental principles and relevant legislation/standards

  • Able to pass a medical/functional assessment, including drug and alcohol screen

  • A flexible approach to work and a strong work ethic
