Description
 

Position Purpose:

Learn to perform compliance and risk assessment activities for information systems and related processes.  Communicate and escalate compliance and risk issues to the appropriate department.

A strong drive and willingness to ensure all requirements are met for our customers and grow in the profession.

This is an on-site position in Columbia, SC, Dallas, TX or State College, PA.

What You'll Do

  • Work to ensure remediation of new and outstanding compliance issues and report on non-compliant areas. Ensure Information Security Risk Exceptions are properly documented and approved.
  • With guidance from more experienced personnel, conduct procedural and operational review of information security policy, processes and system controls against corporate, government and /or internal compliance standards.
  • Work alongside experienced personnel to analyze and interpret security regulations and controls to develop the ability to advise the organization. Provide guidance to functional teams on the implementation, monitoring and reporting of control processes, documentation and compliance measures.
  • Under the direction of Senior Security Analyst or management, contribute to internal and external audit responses.
  • Participate in resolution of Information Security Incidents and gain an understanding of how critical issues may affect organization.

To Qualify for This Position, You’ll Need:

Required Education:

  • Bachelors in a job-related field
  • Or 4 years job related work experience
  • Or Associate's and 2 years job related work experience

Required Work Experience:

  • 2 years of I/T experience or successful completion of BCBSSC I/S Entry Level Training Program (ELTP).

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of System Development Life Cycle methodologies.
  • Good understanding of functional IS processes.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good written, verbal and diplomacy skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timeliness.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Required Software and Other Tools: Standard office equipment.


Preferred Licenses and Certificates:

  • CompTIA Security+
