Job Title: Assistant Manager
Reports To: Shift Manager
Direct Reports: Warehouse Supervisors
Project Management
Create and deliver full-scale project improvement plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) including identifying resources and assigning / delegating responsibilities and actions to others to ensure the defined project tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Ensure project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored.
Work closely with relevant stake holders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s).
Plan and schedule project timelines.
Track and measure project deliverables using appropriate tools including providing predicted and actual Budget result changes.
Ensure there are no deteriorations in levels of quality from any project change.
Provide direction and support to project team members.
Provide regular communication to all operatives who will be affected by any change that the project may deliver.
Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions to Shift Managers and Operations Manager.

Operational Management
To ensure that all direct reports adhere to the Company Health & Safety policies/standards at all times.
To ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported immediately to the HS&E Manager.
To ensure that all department activity is performed in accordance with company procedures and client instructions.
To understand all functions of the warehouse and offer support, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Maximize profit and minimize cost paying particular attention to planned and used hours through the Budget
To control the weekly charging reports including any Ad hoc activity.
Ensure all contact with clients/customers is both professional and responsive to their needs.
To ensure that the Site Performance KPI results are to the agreed targets and/or plans are in place to achieve set targets.
To brief the team at regular intervals.
To actively support encourage team work throughout the work place.
To encourage continuous improvement in all areas of contract operations and be pro-active in identifying problem areas and suggesting solutions.
To identify members of staff that require training and arrange for the training to be carried out alongside the HR team.
To ensure the shift handover log is completed and communication between shifts/contracts is maintained at all times.
· To understand GDP and ISO.
To recruit staff in accordance with the Company Procedure, gaining the appropriate authorisation.
To monitor staff appearance, ensuring that the company uniform is worn and is clean and in presentable condition ensuring that all staff wear identity badges.
To carry out any reasonable requests as determined by Senior Management.

· Educated to O/GCSE Level Standard or above
