Strategy Consulting Team (SCT) seeks an experienced Strategic Planner to provide planning, development, management, and integration support for G6 strategic efforts, information management, and processes. The Strategic Planner will help the Army modernize its network, develop a comprehensive information technology construct, and incorporate cyber operations in future information operations through internal and external coordination, synchronization, and messaging of respective strategic visions, goals, and priorities.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Support the Strategic Initiatives Group mission to better synchronize G-6 policies, strategies, and plans.
- Develops and implements approved Army and G-6 initiatives and provides technical support to ensure initiatives are updated and strategically aligned.
- Coordinates strategic initiatives activities with external organizations. Provides recommended adjustments to DOD, Joint, and Congressional C4IT policies, regulations, and studies to leadership.
- Formulates plans, provides expertise regarding all aspects of staff operations throughout the G-6 and supports all assigned programs.
- Applies expert, comprehensive knowledge of functional policies, procedures, and techniques to develop viable programmatic options for satisfying the changing requirements.
- Continuously reviews and recommends revisions and updates Directorate/Division or Organizations' administrative policies and standing operating procedures.
- Coordinates with other key internal stakeholders to maintain management and oversight of key operational events, engagements, and meetings, ensuring alignment with organizational strategic priorities and the operational tempo with a 24-96 hour time horizon.
- Anticipate and support the planning for upcoming senior leadership engagements, operational travel, and visits, ensuring all logistical and strategic requirements are met in advance.
- Continuously assess the evolving operational and strategic environment to adapt and refine organizational strategic plans, balancing immediate mission requirements with longer-term objectives with short planning windows (24-96 hours).
- Synchronize overarching strategies and strategic direction, ensuring strategic alignment of policies, strategies, and plans for the Army network, cyber operations, and Information Technology (IT).
- Reviews and coordinates Joint and Army operational requirements for Army C4IT, Network, cyber, and Information Management capabilities.
- Ensures integration, alignment, and synchronization of Army G-6 equities in other strategic planning activities.
- Coordinates with strategic partners and assessment teams on Army Network, cyber, IT, IO, and Information Technology/Information Management issues.
- Monitors the execution of major programs requiring inter-staff coordination to attain the organizations’ objectives successfully.
- Ensures program management plans, reports, and reviews are developed, coordinated, and distributed on time and to a high-quality standard.
- Initiates action to meet internal and external suspense actions, tracks the progress of such actions, and ensures full coordination of replies and organization positions.
- Develops and executes complex studies of internal employee/organizational efficiencies and recommends changes or improvements in organization, staffing work processes, and procedures.
Education:
- Master’s degree required, preferably in a field related to national security.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Highly qualified in strategic planning and strategic integration, with at least seven (7) years of higher headquarters strategic planning experience, preferably in the Army or another DOD component.
- Ability to manage a strategic-level portfolio in direct support to a three-star flag officer and several Senior Executive Service executives.
- Extensive military knowledge of military capabilities, systems, operational concepts, strategic theory, and expert knowledge of Army planning processes, communications, cyber, data, and network capabilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Army processes and systems work within multiple disciplines, including information, operational, diplomacy, budgeting, spectrum, and the role of technology in the competition continuum.
- Executive-level communication, superior thinking, and planning, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Executive-level research skills using classified and unclassified information.
- Executive writing and communication skills.
- Expert knowledge of strategic-level documents across DOD and the Army.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Top Secret clearance preferred.
- On site at Pentagon
Salary Range: $115-125k annually
