About the Role
The Telephone Triage Nurse will provide telephone triage and nursing assessments as well as professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Responsible for the Company Vision “To be the prominent urology practice in central Ohio, and beyond, with a reputation for delivering excellent and effective care in all urologic modalities. By providing full-service urology to the patients and communities we serve, there will be greater satisfaction as well as patient and physician loyalty which will allow COUG continued success and growth.”
What You’ll Be Doing
Respond to incoming telephone calls from patients and ask appropriate questions to assess their medical needs
Record clear and concise notes regarding patients’ condition and reaction to drugs and treatments with in electronic medical records
Follows MGMA standards of an average of 60-85 calls per full day including inbound and outbound (30-42 for half days)
Receives inbound direct calls for a set of designated providers as well as from a queue for all providers
Instruct patient regarding medications and treatment instruction, collection of samples and tests, and arranges for patient testing, procedures and admissions.
Educate patient on possible lifestyle changes that may be necessary to promote optimal health
Functions as patient advocate within the medical system.
What We Expect from You
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Two years of professional nursing experience in a medical practice setting, in a Urology practice, clinic or hospital-based health center preferred.
Possession of a RN or LPN license in the state of Ohio.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.
