Job Description Summary

The Senior Contract Manager is responsible for supporting contract administration, management, and execution of contractual obligations across pre-award, project, warranty, and services phases. This role leads to contract analysis, change order management, claim mitigation, risk identification, and legal letter drafting to protect the organization’s commercial and legal interests. The Senior Contract Manager provides strategic contractual guidance to commercial, operations, projects, warranty, and service teams, drives base contract language revisions, and develops procedures to support best practices. This role spearheads customer and stakeholder relationships within an assigned portfolio, coordinates cross-functional resolution of contract disputes, and ensures compliance with organizational policies. The position requires a high degree of autonomy, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to influence business outcomes through proactive contract oversight and risk management.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day contractual support for active projects, including contract analysis, change orders/amendments, and legal letter drafting to protect commercial interests
  • Lead claim mitigation efforts, identify emerging risks, and manage LD calculations and mitigation strategies across projects, warranty, and service contracts
  • Provide ad-hoc contractual guidance to commercial teams across projects, services, and transactional business, including pre-award support and regular feedback from lessons learned
  • Assure timely resolution of customer issues and customer satisfaction for assigned contracts
  • Act as the single point of contact for timely and satisfactory resolution of contractual concerns, disputes, and claims across assigned portfolio
  • Drive base contract language revisions and develop procedures to support best practices in contract management across the organization
  • Contribute to regular portfolio contractual  reviews/reporting  with company leadership and define strategies for minimizing liquidated damages and optimizing contract terms to maximize profitability
  • Maintain all contract-related documentation including contracts, customer communications, performance reports, warranty summary trackers, and claims trackers, ensuring proper document retention across all phases
  • Serve as a “radar” for potential litigation and compliance issues, providing litigation support and escalating risks as appropriate
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and best practice resource for contract management, contributing to strategy and policy development and mentoring less experienced team members
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with projects, legal, service, operations, field service, and commercial teams to ensure contractual alignment and customer satisfaction
  • Foster collaborative relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and optimize project and service outcomes
  • Communicate complex contractual, commercial, and technical information effectively to diverse audiences; build consensus and influence outcomes across organizational levels

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations, commercial, sales, contract management, or project management functions.
  • Significant experience supporting project execution, contracts, and service agreements.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% across North America.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $104,200.00 and $173,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
