What you'll do:
Create and maintain Merchandising Calendar, indicating holidays and pay weeks, page count, themes and events.
Lead quarterly front-page planning meetings.
Determine cell allocation for inside and back page themes.
Request for program numbers and theme codes.
Create promotional shells in JDA, publish Merchant work lists.
Review ad completion reports / gross margin report – address identified gaps.
Calculate and publish weekly flyer financial analysis, pre and post ad.
Create and publish weekly post mortem report.
Support seasonal programs to ensure events are planned according to corporate timelines.
Solicit regional input on themed and non-flyer promotions.
Support local, regional, banner specific event planning.
Support event material selection and planning with corporate Marketing Team.
Lead ad creative process with Trans Con and corporate Marketing teams.
Attend and provide input during weekly sales calls.
Proofing to ensure no missing items / items fit the theme / proper grid is being used. Work with BU’s on creative for special programs/pages.
Review and process marketing invoices, monitor overall marketing expenses.
Maintain signage program with 3rd party provider.
Manage one direct report – Sr Analyst, Marketing
Review and participate in creation of ads.
Support Merchant team in Supply Chain engagement – communicating timing and inventory requirements of cross- departmental programs
Communicates promotional plans and strategies to Operations.
Prepare and publish Retailer Merchandising Opportunity report on a weekly basis.
Support creation of Execution Guides, Sell Sheets, Deal Guides, as required.
Manage changes to the promo program as the ad evolves through the process.
Liaise with Operations to zone flyers for store openings / store specific events.
Support Merchant team in troubleshooting issues with JDA, sales planners, label batch feeds.

What you bring:
5-7 years of business experience in marketing or merchandising roles
Excellent communicator up, down and across the enterprise
A strong understanding of the market and competitive landscape to monitor item selection and feature pricing in flyer planning process.
Proven strength in having a ‘customer lens’ in all decision-making processes
Ability to gather and synthesize customer, competitor and market insight and information
An effective change agent who possesses the influencing skills needed to help the organization adopt new ways of thinking and to embrace more sophisticated business tools
Ability to coach and mentor direct reports and team with a focus on Colleague Development
Post-secondary education (university or professionally accredited college) or equivalent experience
