ABOUT THE ROLE
Role Description:

The Director of Global Procurement – Technology and Analytics Transformation will lead a Center of Excellence (CoE) focused on harnessing cutting-edge technologies and analytics to revolutionize our procurement processes. This strategic role involves leading the design and implementation of a comprehensive digital transformation strategy across the procurement function, enhancing data-driven decision-making, and optimizing operational efficiencies on a global scale. This role will be expected to lead a team, while engaging with senior leadership across procurement. It will also be critical for this role to liaise and build strong collaborative relationships across and with multiple teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership and Vision: Develop and lead the strategic vision for procurement technology and analytics, aligning with Amgen’s global business objectives to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Center of Excellence Management: Build and manage a Center of Excellence for procurement technology and analytics, spearheading initiatives that foster technological advancements and analytical capabilities within the procurement team.
- Technology Implementation and Integration: Oversee the selection, implementation, and integration of new procurement technologies, ensuring they meet the strategic needs of the organization and deliver tangible benefits.
- Advanced Data Analytics: Champion the development and utilization of advanced analytics models and data visualization tools to provide strategic insights and support business decisions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with senior leadership across the organization to ensure alignment on technology and analytics strategies, securing buy-in and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Utilize technology to enhance supplier engagement and performance, driving negotiations and partnerships that benefit Amgen strategically and operationally.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure that all technology and analytics initiatives comply with international standards and regulations, maintaining the highest levels of data integrity and security.
- Team Leadership and Talent Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing team within the CoE, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
Must Have Skills
- Advanced knowledge of procurement technologies and systems
- Proven expertise in systems integration, implementation, and project management
- Strong knowledge of procurement upstream and downstream processes and demonstrated ability to collaborate to identify and deliver integration and efficiencies
- Proven track record of leading implementation of procurement digital roadmaps Advanced data/information and analytics management (including cycle times, KPIs and SLAs), continuous improvement expertise, and project management skills
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and derive actionable insights
- Experience with procurement technology and software systems, such as procurement ERPs (Enterprise Resource Planning), spend analysis tools, and data visualization tools

- Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Exceptional ability to think strategically and analytically, with a proven capability to apply data and technology in solving complex business challenges.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with and influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Project Management: Advanced project management skills, with the ability to manage large-scale technology implementation projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S./B.A.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant business experience
- Minimum of 10-12 years of multi-disciplined procurement experience
- Minimum of 5 years Pharmaceutical Procurement experience
- Advanced knowledge of procurement technologies and systems
