What you will be doing…

This role will focus on architecting, developing, and deploying end-to-end, AI-powered commercial applications. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role demanding deep technical expertise across the modern software engineering stack and AI/Machine Learning methodologies

The Full Stack AI Engineer will work closely with data science, software engineering, and product teams at Verizon to proactively design and develop intelligent applications. These capabilities will encompass generative AI, predictive, prescriptive, and adaptive applications for all inferences at Verizon. Solutions will be implemented seamlessly from the user interface (front-end) to the database and infrastructure layer (back-end/cloud), operating in real-time, streaming, and batch modes depending on business needs.

Therefore, it is critical that this candidate possesses proven experience in not just researching AI techniques, but actively engineering the scalable, full-stack applications that bring them to life.

An ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and strategic foresight, bridging the gap between heavy algorithmic math and seamless user experiences.

Architect and Develop End-to-End AI Applications

• Lead the full-stack development of next-generation AI applications, ensuring seamless integration between complex AI models (LLMs, predictive models) and modern web interfaces.

• Design and deploy scalable APIs and microservices to serve machine learning models using modern frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Node.js, GraphQL).

• Develop intuitive, responsive front-end interfaces (React, Next.js, Vue) that allow users to interact with AI models effectively.

• Implement robust backend architectures incorporating traditional and modern databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Vector Databases like Pinecone or Milvus for RAG architectures).

• Test and validate AI methods, ensuring privacy, ethical modeling practices, and bias-free implementations.

Technical Thought Leadership & DevOps

• Operate as an expert and thought leader in both Full Stack Engineering and AI/MLOps, establishing best practices for the CI/CD of machine learning applications.

• Serve as a trusted architectural advisor to all stakeholders at Verizon.

• Coach and mentor high-potential talent across both data science and software engineering disciplines.

• Champion infrastructure-as-code and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for reliable model deployment across on-premise, cloud, and edge environments.

Elevate the AI Practice

• Partner with academia and the startup ecosystem to identify new AI approaches (e.g., Agentic AI, advanced GenAI workflows) and modern software tools that deliver value to Verizon.

• Stay informed on the latest advancements in the AI and web technology space, customizing these tools to solve our specific business problems.

• Help create an environment where engineers and scientists share pioneering work via open source, publications, and internal libraries.

• Support governance routines, ensuring adherence to model management policies, code peer reviews, and compliance with privacy and security standards.

What we are looking for…

You will need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Experience independently developing algorithms, writing production-grade code, and deploying complex software/AI solutions to production.

• Experience scaling AI in commercial applications (e.g., Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Personalization, Computer Vision) and integrating them into full-stack applications.

• Full Stack Development: Expertise in modern backend languages and frameworks (Python/FastAPI, Node.js, Go).Strong proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, TailwindCSS).

• AI/ML & Data Engineering: Deep understanding of underlying math/algorithms combined with expertise in ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and ML libraries (Scikit-learn, Hugging Face).Hands-on experience with modern AI stacks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI APIs) and Vector Databases.

• Infrastructure & Data: Experience with building and maintaining streaming and batch data pipelines (Kafka, Spark) in production.Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Core Competencies: Exposure to advanced data structures, data modeling, and modern software architecture patterns.
