Role Summary

T. Rowe Price is seeking a quantitative analyst to join its Integrated Equity (IE) team. The IE team combines both quantitative and fundamental insights across a comprehensive range of strategies to deliver alpha for our clients. We are looking for a driven researcher who is passionate about blending quantitative and fundamental approaches.

The Quantitative Analyst will generate insights through the research development and maintenance of portfolio construction, risk management, and market surveillance infrastructure.  The successful candidate will enhance our portfolio construction processes, identify, and monitor risk exposures, and evaluate equity market inefficiencies.

 

Responsibilities

  • Research, propose and implement enhanced portfolio construction methods. 
  • Refine and maintain an efficient technology infrastructure to support the team's portfolio construction and analytical efforts.
  • Maintain and enhance automation and robustness of the portfolio analytic, risk monitoring, and portfolio optimization infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to build platform level risk and opportunities dashboards that can be leveraged beyond Integrated Equity.
  • Perform research to analyze portfolios or market conditions.  For example, the team may identify a relevant risk in the market that is not captured by risk models; the successful candidate will research define and capture the risk, then analyze portfolios with respect to that risk factor.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree required, Masters or PhD in Computer Science or other quantitative discipline preferred AND
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing infrastructure to support an investment team required

Preferred:

  • Strong programming skills across languages such as Python, R and SQL
  • Portfolio optimization experience
  • Knowledge of portfolio risk modeling (Barra, Axioma)
  • Experience developing visualization infrastructure (R-Shiny, Power BI)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail required.  The successful candidate should have a strong desire to look at and understand the implications and nuances of the raw data – opposed to reviewing summary level data. 
  • Passion for equity markets and desire to understand what is driving portfolio performance
  • The ideal candidate is a self-driven, creative problem solver with strong technical and quantitative skills.

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.

Base salary ranges:

$125,000.00-$200,000.00 for the location of: California, New York
$125,000.00-$200,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C
$125,000.00-$200,000.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and all other US locations

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the roleBase salary is only one component of our total compensation packageEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
