About This Position
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Designs, analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves advanced operational and performance-related database issues; coordinates changes; maintains database structures; and assists in developing policies and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the database environment.
Designs, coordinates, implements, and determines procedures necessary to save and recover production databases and databases from hardware and software failure.
Performs database performance monitoring and auditing, implements efficiency improvements, and modifies existing databases and database management systems.
Designs, configures, and implements database network connectivity working with required technical teams.
Monitors capacity versus utilization and recommends appropriate action on a timely basis to avoid performance degradation.
Creates databases and database objects, such as tables, indexes, views, triggers, and stored procedures.
Tracks database assets and critical information about those assets.
Assists in development of data security standards to ensure data integrity data security.
Maintains data standards and prepares and develops database documentation, procedures, and definitions for data dictionaries.
Creates test database environment for applications section, including the creation of necessary libraries and procedures.
Installs new software releases and/or upgrades including researching, testing, and implementing new technology.
May provide leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training, and guidance to others.

Knowledge of industry and department best practices, requirements and policies and procedures.

The IT Database Administrator Senior is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, performance, availability, and recoverability of enterprise database systems.
This position serves as both an infrastructure and application database administrator, providing technical leadership for Oracle database environments, including Oracle RAC, ASM, and related database technologies.
Responsibilities include database installation and configuration, patching and upgrades, backup and recovery, performance tuning, troubleshooting, monitoring, capacity planning, support of business-critical applications.
This position works closely with application teams, systems administrators, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure and highly available database services supporting the organization.
Austin, Texas 78723 - Hybrid; Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. - 40 Hour Work Week.
Additional work hours may be required to support the 24-hour Utility operations, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, inclement weather, and emergency closures.
$85,120.00 - $109,400.00 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
