Job Summary 

As a POOLCORP Software Owner, you will become the product expert for your product.  work collaboratively with the Product Manager to understand the customer’s need and work to fulfill them.  You will play a role that is at the core of our Agile process by getting deep into customer requirements, prioritizing the features as per their importance.  You will own the team’s backlog, define user stories, and help shape the vision and product roadmap. 

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the customer/business to the feature team.

  • Work with Product Manager to feed the funnel and manage customer feedback.

  • Lead and support the sizing/effort calculations for a feature and align capacity to velocity required for the team.

  • Prepare and participate in Program Increment Planning.

  • Maintain the team’s product backlog prioritizing the tasks that the team will take up next.

  • Develop and track Features and User stories.

  • Define the user stories and work with the team to make sure they are clear.

  • Application of Behavioral Driven Development (Testing).

  • Acceptance of the stories.

  • Lead team demos and retrospectives.

  • Maintain the technical and conceptual integrity of the features or components for the team.

Requirements:

The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform this job successfully.

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Business Administration, or related field.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in product management.

  • At least 3 years of experience working in an environment using DevOps, preferably Azure DevOps

  • Possess a working knowledge of software technology, computer programming experience, and broad business knowledge.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical material using non-technical language

  • Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Be capable of researching solutions to help solve difficult problems
