Inside the Role

The Canton Parts Distribution Center (PDC) is a fast-paced operation which provides direct aftermarket parts support to DTNA’s dealer and distribution network. At the Canton PDC you will work alongside highly motivated individuals within the organization’s Leadership Team, focusing on both short- and long-term goals and objectives of the PDC. Total staff for the operation equals approximately 250 people and includes salaried exempt employees, salaried office employees and hourly warehouse employees. The Canton PDC is a multiple shift operation, open Monday-Thursday from 5:30AM through 3:00AM and Friday- Sunday 6:30AM through 7:00PM

• Typically requires a Bachelors Degree • Typically requires 2-4 years of relevant experience with degree or 6 years in lieu of degree • Decision maker for daily activities that are guided by practice and production requirements with oversight from manager • Possesses basic understanding of guidelines, procedures, and processes related to job field • Supervises day-to-day work and participate in coaching and development of employees on the Technical and Business Support band in operations, manufacturing, and/or logistics • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information with employees

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Decision maker for daily activities that are guided by practice and production requirements with oversight from manager
  • Possesses basic understanding of guidelines, procedures, and processes related to job field
  • Supervises day-to-day work and participate in coaching and development of employees on the technical and business support band in operations, manufacturing, and/or logistics
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information with employees
  • Manages and directs the activities of the distribution center, involving the reception, delivery and control of merchandise
  • Develops and monitors budgets, maintains safety/security and inventory control programs, ensures distribution center facilities and equipment are properly maintained, and proposes improvements to optimize the distribution process
  • Exercises general supervision of overall distribution activity, including inventory control, order processing, warehouse activities, transportation, maintenance, and customer service

Knowledge You Should Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience or 6+ years in lieu of degree
  • Previous Leadership experience within an operational environment; i.e. manufacturing, distribution or transportation
  • Ability to coach and develop employees to higher levels of performance
  • Strong Leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge and application of Lean/Continuous Improvement tools and principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Exceptional Candidates Might Have:

  • Previous supervisory experience within a fast paced, multi-shift distribution environment is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of distribution/warehousing operations, methods and procedures is highly desirable
  • Strong Customer focus and previous face time experience with customers is preferred
