Job Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
CUSTOMER
- Develop and leverage your wealth planning discovery skills and expertise to produce a high-quality plan that is relevant to your client's wealth considerations
- Provide goals-based wealth advice across a full range of product and service solutions
- Attract and advise on the financial assets of affluent clients looking for the opportunity to establish a one-on-one relationship with a dedicated professional while maintaining active participation in the decisions regarding their financial affairs.
- Conduct an in-depth review of the client's investment goals, philosophies and risk tolerance, and work with them to develop and document their personalized investment strategy which includes advice on financial products, insurance and estate planning
- Upon agreement of the client's investment strategy the IA will make recommendations to the client regarding their portfolio's construction, security selection, monitoring, rebalancing and make referrals to Wealth or TDCT partners that match the client’s needs
- Prepare delivery of an Investment & Wealth Plan (IWP)
- Provide the client with periodic performance reporting and will provide ongoing advice with a view to enhancing their plan over the long term
- Prospect, market and develop pipeline for the process of putting business plan into action by identifying and cultivating relationships with potential clients and external referral sources to build client base and market share
- Integrate sales efforts with TD Canada Trust, TD Wealth and other areas to market a full range of solutions and services
- Manage the client relationship including annual review, reporting, rediscovery and ongoing advice and service
SHAREHOLDER
- Develop / implement sales strategies to proactively attract, acquire and retain customers / sales opportunities and referrals, to increase profitability and enable business growth
- Plan and execute business development activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly
- Promote and offer full suite of products, sales, service capabilities
- Contribute to business objectives for Operational Excellence and contribute to internal and regulatory compliance
- Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures
- Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary
- Ensure documentation that is prepared / completed is accurate and properly reflects client / business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules / regulations
- Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines/ corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
- Recommend best practices to improve products or services; integrates a deep understanding of target customer market and dynamics
- Ensure necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all customer transactions / activities
- Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
- Be knowledgeable of and comply with TD Bank/ industry service standards, policies/ procedures/ controls, codes and guidelines of conduct/privacy codes/securities laws and regulations and maintain high ethical standards.

- Recognized as top level expert within the company in a specific client segment or product / service line with responsibility for identifying and interpreting trends in the market to structure portfolios and get results
- Defines new approaches to sell and deliver solutions
- Anticipates emerging customer trends as a basis for recommending products and services and expanding the business
- Highly sophisticated understanding of customer needs and competitor offerings that contribute to the direction of the business line or segment
- Oversees the management and activities of large accounts and related servicing teams
- Manages the most strategic relationships that are characterized by significantly complex products and services provided and/or takes a significant business development focus
- Solves unique problems with broad impact on the business segment and financials
- Develops and implements new and innovative approaches to the sales process, including negotiation of terms and approaches to account management – provides expert advice internally and externally
- Impacts a range of sales achievement for largest accounts and relationships and a significant part of one or more business lines
- Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades customers; negotiates significant terms
- Provides leadership guidance, makes recommendations and collaborates with business to ensure solutions meets the business needs on a complex project or program
- Identifies and leads problem resolution for project/program complex requirements related issues at all levels
- Reports to a Branch Manager
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Undergraduate Degree
- Licensed with IIROC as a Registered Representative (RR)
- Life Insurance License (LLQP) must be obtained with within 3 months of hire
- CIWM, CFP is an asset
- Minimum three (3) years of experience working directly in a client-facing, sales or relationship-focused role
