Job Description Summary

The Hydro HR leader executes the human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of culture change management, organization capability and workforce development and employee relations.

The incumbent partners closely with COEs on recruitment, training, inclusion & diversity, talent development and succession planning, recognition & compensation planning.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement HR strategies and activities that effectively support the achievement of the Hydro business mission and strategic vision.
  • Operate as a strategic business advisor to the CEO and executive/senior management team of the business; engage and contribute to the business planning process as a member of the leadership team. Coach and mentor members of the leadership team as appropriate.
  • Define and implement people solutions and processes to effectively support the achievement of overall business objectives and improve organizational capability; direct the planning, management and delivery of people related projects to instigate and deliver business change. Use data to drive decision making and following lean principles, assess people trends and analytics to enhance solutions, processes and policies that address current issues and mitigate future risk.
  • Leverage the workforce planning team to lead on workforce planning assessment and action planning, ensuring a strong collaboration with the Operations and Finance teams to build a comprehensive headcount plan for the organization in support of the business plan; closely monitor performance and adjust as necessary to ensure resources are aligned to support operational plan delivery.
  • Leveraging talent standards, manage the continued evolution of a comprehensive talent development plan for the global Hydro organization, implementing talent acceleration processes and development activities in support of current & future capabilities and succession plan activation. Consider gaps, articulate action plans and engage people leaders to raise the level of talent management across the business. Work with the company's executive management team to establish a considered plan of senior management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
  • Lead, motivate and inspire a high performing HR team. Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing career development, succession planning, retention, talent acquisition, training, leadership development, reward and benefits globally.
  • Ensure the culture and strategy of the function aligns with and contributes to business-wide priorities and the GE Vernova Way. Be a major change agent in promoting our Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost culture.
  • Supports organizational simplification, leveraging Lean methodologies to build organizational capabilities, contain cost, reduce inefficiencies, and waste, and maximize performance across the business and HR function.
  • Focuses on safety and the lifesaving rules.  Exemplifies unyielding compliance and ethical behavior.
  • Provide support and counsel to the Country HRs and COEs and ensure collaboration across the HR community.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • Extensive experience in a variety of Human Resource positions, both staff and client based

  • Master’s degree in business administration or human resources

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $196,000 and $294,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $270,500 and $405,700 CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
