Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, bare metal stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters, hardware, and software, vessel closure devices and peripheral stents

Our location in Westford, MA, currently has an opportunity for a Manager, Engineering (Sustaining).

THIS IS AN ONSITE DAILY ROLE. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Oversee the ongoing support and continuous improvement of existing products and manufacturing processes.  Lead a team of engineers to troubleshoot issues, implement changes, and ensure product reliability.  Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, research and development, and regulatory affairs, to address customer feedback and enhance product performance.  Analyze data to identify trends and potential improvements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and global regulations.  Balance technical expertise with project management skills to play a crucial role in extending the lifecycle of products while improving customer satisfaction and reducing cost.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive cost savings and gross margin improvement initiatives
  • Solve problems using six sigma and other business excellence tools and techniques
  • Run empirical and experimental analysis and use data to make decisions.
  • Evaluate proposed changes and develop strategic plans for implementation of the changes
  • Evaluate alternative components/designs.
  • Work with outside consultants, vendors, and the medical community.
  • Project planning.
  • Coordinate and manage resources to meet detailed project timelines and milestones.
  • Ensure compliance to industry standards and global regulations
  • Ensure that the quality system requirements are being met.
  • Support design reviews and physician visits.
  • Understand product specifications including justification and supportive testing
  • Create product drawings and/or models
  • Develop test methods
  • Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback.
  • Sets goals which align to department plans and manages the execution of goals through coaching and mentoring.
  • Maintains a safe and professional work environment.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. 
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING:

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree (Engineering) (REQUIRED) and 10+ years experience or an equivalent of education and work experience. Masters degree preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE

** Medical Devices experience is REQUIRED.

** R&D/Sustaining engineering/related field

** Experience designing and testing medical devices required preferably interventional cardiology devices. 

**Experience with medical hardware including PCs, laser diodes, PCBs and other electronic components (PREFERRED)

** Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability required.

** Project leadership and management skills required.

** Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred.

** Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

** Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.

Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.

Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable. 

Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.

The base pay for this position is

$95,000.00 – $190,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
