As a Climate Change Adviser, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping RAC build resilience to climate impacts, address the climate crisis, and meet emerging regulatory requirements, including the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (AASB S2). 

 

This is your opportunity to work at the intersection of sustainability, innovation and strategy – influencing how a purpose-led organisation responds to the challenges and opportunities of climate change. 

 

This role will be offered on a Full Time basis, for an initial 12month Maximum Term Contract, with the potential to extend.  

 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Embedding climate considerations into RAC’s strategic and operational decisions. 

  • Identifying and assessing climate-related risks and opportunities across the business. 

  • Supporting the development of RAC’s climate-aligned strategies, policies, and risk frameworks. 

  • Collaborating across teams to build internal capability and foster climate-focused thinking. 

  • Supporting development of RAC’s Climate Transition Plan and sustainability reporting. 

  • Engaging members and communities on climate and sustainability topics. 

  • Working with finance teams to assess financial implications of climate risks and opportunities. 

 

What you’ll bring: 

  • A degree in sustainability, climate change, or a related discipline. 

  • Strong experience with climate risk assessment and sustainability reporting (ideally using TCFD). 

  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and working with external consultants. 

  • Strategic thinking across diverse business areas, including financial planning. 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 

  • A passion for driving meaningful impact through climate action.
