The incumbent will lead the strategic review and optimization of various new health initiatives across markets in Asia, to help accelerate the strategic focus of Manulife’s Health business in Asia. This role will help identify, optimize and accelerate key initiatives across healthcare proposition / product development, provider management, healthcare administration and data enablement. This role will ensure the strategic optimization and alignment of new health initiatives with organizational goals, leveraging technology, data, and process optimization to deliver measurable impact.

Position Responsibilities:

• Taking on a multitude of health initiatives related to improving the portfolio of healthcare initiatives and KPI’s across various markets in Asia.

• Responsibilities will include, among others, understanding claim cost drivers and sustainability, underwriting strategy & rule design with the objectives of earnings sustainability and new business value maximization.

• Provider management initiatives to improve network effectiveness and provider compliance, with the aim to drive profitability.

• Leading the development of innovative health products and individual and group medical repricing exercises, lapse rates, and portfolio risk assessment, to help support marketing, profitability, and risk management goals.

• Developing advanced analytics techniques and use cases to provide commercial insights and advice for claim cost sustainability,  provider optimization, and efficient healthcare administration.

• Working closely with Health Business Development, Data & Analyitcs, Digital and AI, as well as Provider Management, Medical Advisory and Health Transformation to accelerate Manulife’s regional health strategy development and execution.

Required Qualifications:

• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability combined with strong technical actuarial skills.

• Ability to respond to changing demands from multiple stakeholders and prioritize needs and results while working under deadline pressure.

• Strong project management and organizational skills

• Experience with health product development and reinsurance would be an asset.
