Job Requirements

  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of AI/ML scientists, engineers, and product managers, ensuring high performance and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage both the AI CoE and applied AI/ML teams to deliver state-of-the-art AI/ML applications that support the bank’s strategic initiatives and AI evolution.
  • Identify and prioritize new machine learning opportunities, working with Line of Business (LOB) stakeholders to define outcomes, benefits, and implementation strategies.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive end-to-end AIML plans that integrate Program Management, Business, Technology, and Layer 6 activities. Identify and mitigate interdependencies.
  • Establish governance structures, approve projects, and oversee their execution, ensuring effective management of AIML activities, project teams, and delivery.
  • Ensure LOBs are held accountable for the delivery of project benefits and outcomes.
  • Manage compliance approvals related to AIML activities, consents, and implementation.
  • Work closely with the Layer 6 (L6) / Spoke teams to coordinate resources and inputs.
  • Lead assessments of use cases, evaluating risk appetite, infrastructure, skillset, delivery risk, and strategic alignment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and motivate a highly qualified team to meet business objectives.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in machine learning to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Partner with LOB Analytics leaders to identify and leverage machine learning opportunities that optimize business outcomes.
  • Drive the realization of business case benefits and work with Spokes to execute implementation plans.
  • Coordinate resource management activities in collaboration with HR teams.
     

Qualification

The ideal candidate should have over 10+ years of experience in advanced analytics and significant experience in AIML development and deployment, preferably within the context of global bank products and/or consulting services. 


Educational Requirements/Accreditations: 

  • Post Secondary/Masters in quantitative discipline, science, engineering or business/finance is preferred.

  • History of delivering business impact and results through developing and executing on strategies over both short term and longer term 
  • Motivated to constantly find innovative ways to enhance capability, methodology and practice 

People Leadership and Influence 

  • Proven leadership.  Ability to work in and across teams, manage stakeholders and align leadership 
  • Strong people leader with demonstrated experience in identifying and growing talent 
  • Experience leading and building effective teams and delivering superior results   
  • Ability to motivate, develop and empower others to proactively adapt to changing environments 
  • Promote positive team interactions and bring a high level of enthusiasm to projects 
  • Ability to manage analytics experts, modelers and data scientists. 
  • Self-starter; goal oriented; customer focused 

Business Acumen 

  • Strong understanding of contact center operations and systems would be a strong asset
  • Experience working in both a technical and business context and able to translate technical concepts into easy to understand business language 
  • In-depth industry knowledge, including current big data trends and challenges globally 
  • Ability to create business cases and explain the business value of projects 
  • Understanding of data privacy, security and data governance 

Relationship Building and Communications 

  • Excellent relationship skills with proven ability to impact and influence others 
  • Demonstrated teamwork and ability to build deep relationships with different business partners 
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at senior levels 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal 

Technical Competencies 

  • Understanding of end to end capabilities spanning data management, business intelligence, cloud and advance analytics  
  • Understanding and expertise with data and data warehouse technologies 
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of data management and analytics tools 
  • Strong analytic skills, including statistical and segmentation analysis; data analysis and insight development; financial statement and competitive analysis 
  • Understanding of when to use traditional vs big data solutions. 

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience: 

  • Working knowledge of general banking / consumer finance products, policies and operations. 
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities 
  • Consulting background advising a variety of industries and lines of business related to analytics subject matter
