The role is responsible for supporting the following activities across NAB Group and its subsidiaries: Governance and oversight of all current security related controls, findings/gaps/weaknesses and uplift initiatives. Management and oversight of ongoing compliance with security frameworks, policies and standards. Provision of the associated reporting and proactive management .Contributing towards the effective operation of the Security Governance operating model

Your Responsibilities 

  •  Help with and contribute to oversight and governance of all current security requirements - this includes governing NAB’s compliance to all existing applicable security policies, standard and frameworks, in a way that is sustainable; as well as current and future applicable requirements​
  • Help embed future security requirements (e.g. from new legislation, standards, etc) into BAU with coaching and support from Manager, Security Governance​
  • Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with security frameworks, standards and good security governance practices​
  • Support the Manager Security Governance in the maintenance, implementation and maturation of security standards and frameworks including accountabilities, roles and responsibilities across Group and subsidiaries, aligned to industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and NAB’s risk appetite​
  • Support the development and ongoing monitoring of Group-wide information security metrics to measure information security maturity and proactively identify areas of concern​
  • Help implement associated reporting and proactive management to ensure continuous compliance, via engagement with relevant teams internal/external to Group Security​
  • Contribute towards the ongoing uplift in maturity of people, process, tools related to security governance and enhance security risk awareness and culture, with coaching and support from Manager, Security Governance

Key Skills

  • Governance Framework Understanding: Familiarity with governance frameworks like NIST, COBIT, ITIL, and their application in managing security initiatives​
  • Cybersecurity Expertise: Understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices in security measures, risk assessment methodologies, information security technologies, and emerging threats relevant to the financial industry. ​
  • 5+ years' experience in security governance or regulatory role.​
  • Risk Management: Ability to assess risks across the enterprise and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively​
  • Policy Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of security policies, standards, and regulations applicable to the financial industry​
  • Communication and Stakeholder Mgmt: Excellent communication skills to articulate complex security concepts into clear and concise messages to non-technical stakeholders, including senior management and board members. Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with executive stakeholders, advocating for security requirements.
  • Prior experience in the financial industry, preferably within a similar role, to understand the unique challenges and requirements of securing financial institutions​
  • Experienced with working with business stakeholders and resolving business issues​
  • Experience in integrating complex processes and security solutions​
  • Business engagement and development experience, with proven stakeholder relationship management ​
  • Proven track record of operating and delivering consistent results in a large complex business​
  • Experience with influencing senior leaders across strategic & operational outcomes​
  • Qualification Requirements: Relevant certifications and tertiary degree, industry certifications such as CISA or CRISC highly regarded.
  • Delivery experience: Supporting the implementation of security governance initiatives/activities, and implementation of new governance processes and compliance requirements in large organisations, is highly regarded
