Campus AV Manager
Position: The Campus AV Manager is broadly responsible for all Audio/Visual systems on campus. This includes design, acquisition, installation and maintenance of classroom A/V systems, conference room technology, and other A/V systems in use throughout campus. Also responsible for event setup and support. The position supervises an A/V Technician. Must have the ability to support faculty and staff in high visibility and high-pressure situations. This is primarily an on-campus, in-person position.
Responsibilities:
Regular responsibilities include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Design, acquire, install, configure, maintain and update campus AV systems and equipment (primarily Extron, but includes Crestron)
Developing procedures and processes to proactively maintain complex classroom AV and control systems, including documenting those procedures and ensuring this work is performed in a timely manner.
Analyze installed AV equipment and control systems for ease of operation and effectiveness and make recommendations for upgrading or replacing systems and equipment.
Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and prepare replacement schedules and budgets.
Coordinate AV system upgrades and changes with IT management, academic department heads, staff and faculty to limit service interruptions and minimize downtime.
Advise management with the design and implementation of new instructional technology in classrooms and learning environments.
Supervise one professional staff member.
Support Board of Trustee’s meetings, graduation and other high-profile events.
Provide AV system training to end users and IT colleagues
Some after-hours and weekend work required to support some events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in technical field (.e.g., Media Arts, acoustics, audio design, computer science, engineering) and three (3) years of professional experience in the installation, configuration, maintenance, or support of audio-visual systems. OR
Associates Degree in related field (see above for examples) and four (4) years of specific, relevant experience and demonstrate possession of substantially the same knowledge level as found in a degree, but have attained the advanced knowledge through a combination of work experience and intellectual instruction, OR
High School Diploma and eight (8) years, of specific relevant experience and demonstrate possession of substantially the same knowledge level as found in a degree but have attained advanced knowledge through a combination of work experience and intellectual instruction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in technical field
Certifications for Crestron, Extron, Avixa Certifications, Biamp, QSC, Shure, etc.
Prior experience in an academic environment, particularly in the support of classroom technologies
Experience supporting high stakes live events.
Compensation: $55,000 to $60,000 annually, with benefits. This position is FLSA exempt and is NOT eligible for overtime.
