The Enterprise IT Strategy team partners closely with product, IT, and operations leaders to shape and execute the organization’s cloud and infrastructure strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.  We analyze market trends, emerging technologies, and financial sector dynamics to identify opportunities and risks, translating insights into actionable strategies.  We also design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient AWS environments while driving innovation in areas like multi-region architecture, disaster recovery, and infrastructure automation.

As an IT Strategy Consultant, you will be involved in collaborating with various product, information technology and operation team members to identify opportunities for emerging solutions, infrastructure and business needs.  This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by IT leadership. 

This role is hybrid (Mon through Thu on-site / Fri remote) for candidates in the Kansas City metropolitan area and open to qualified remote candidates outside of the Kansas City area.  However, the remote location must be within the US.

How you’ll spend your time:

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis and competitive research to identify trends, risks and opportunities with the financial sector.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to gather insights, understand business needs and help develop an actionable strategy.
  • Utilize data analytics to inform strategic recommendations, develop models and forecasts to support decision-making process.
  • Architect/Build scalable, secure AWS environments using Well-Architected principles.
  • Design/Build multi-region, high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.
  • Lead infrastructure strategy across compute, networking, and storage.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
  • Drive/Build FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization.

We’re excited to talk if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration technology, Engineering, or related field and experience OR equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • At least 10 years in infrastructure or cloud engineering.
  • At least 5 years of AWS experience at enterprise scale.
  • Expertise in AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, etc.).
  • Experience with secure, fault-tolerant architectures.
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience.
  • Networking knowledge (DNS, routing, load balancing).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Understanding of cloud security and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Senior Level presentation experience with proven track record of creating and delivering presentations.
  • Background in Go-to-Market strategy development and execution.
  • Understanding of business case development for IT and Strategic initiatives.
  • Strategic thinking with ability to apply ITIL Service Value System principles to business challenges.
  • Experience in large-scale transformations.

Bonus Points if you have:

  • ITIL Certification or AWS Certified Solution Architect – Professional.
  • Financial/banking industry experience.
  • Background working with large consulting firms.
  • Multi-region architecture experience.
  • FinOps expertise.
  • Infrastructure & Cloud transformation leadership.
  • Experience in Blockchain, Digital Currency and Digital Assets.
  • Experience with agile and Transformation initiatives with governance/service management framework.

Compensation Range:

$99,750.00 - $214,370.00
