The Marketing Localization Team adapts marketing materials to suit the cultural and linguistic preferences of specific target markets. Your expertise in the Japanese language as a native speaker and understanding of cultural sensitivities will ensure that marketing campaigns effectively connect with Japanese audiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in messaging and adherence to brand guidelines while maintaining the integrity of the original content.
 

Job Responsiblities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing Localization team and other localization teams within Salesforce to measure and maintain content translation quality and effective Translation Memory management.

  • Translate, review marketing materials, such as ebooks, white papers, presentations, video scripts, and website content, to ensure they're culturally and linguistically appropriate for the target market.

  • Proofread and edit localized materials to ensure they're accurate, consistent, and of high quality.

  • Review and assess the quality of machine translation output and perform any necessary ‌MT PE work (machine translation post editing).

  • Utilize generative AI tools to create relevant marketing messages for campaigns in-country.

  • Support the maintenance of ‌language glossaries and language style guides to retain language consistency and accuracy for Salesforce supported languages

  • Work closely with the marketing team to understand the key messages and objectives of each campaign, and ensure that these are effectively communicated in the localized materials.

  • Collaborate with other Salesforce teams in the U.S. or in-country marketing teams, and the team's agency partners, such as translators, copywriters, and designers, to ensure a cohesive and effective localization process.

  • Work with external vendors, such as translation agencies and language service providers, to make sure that high-quality localized materials are produced, and the quality expectations are met and maintained.

  • Research the target market to gain an understanding of their cultural norms, values, and preferences, and use this knowledge to inform the localization process.

  • Collaborate with data scientists on the team to oversee the linguistic quality of Machine Translation, providing expertise and insights to improve translation algorithms and outputs

  • Analyze market feedback and performance data to continuously refine localization efforts, and partner with regional Salesforce marketers to capture and distribute Salesforce market requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in marketing and/or localization 

  • Understanding and experience of working with CAT Tool platforms, Worldserver, Smartling, Trados, XTM, Phrase

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills in both Japanese & English

  • Excellent writing and editing skills in Japanese

  • Proven experience in language localization, translation, or linguistic project management

  • Experience in Terminology and Translation Memory (TM) management

  • Experience in content optimization, SEO and SEM

  • Passion in adapting marketing materials to suit the cultural and linguistic preferences of specific target markets
