We are seeking a Director, Project Management, to lead high visibility capital projects across Innovative Medicine. This role offers the opportunity to shape J&J’s future footprint while enabling product launch and operational readiness.

The Director, Project Management (Innovative Medicine) provides integrated, end‑to‑end leadership across complex capital programs. This role is accountable for safety, scope, schedule, cost, quality, and stakeholder alignment from early concept through facility startup. The Director leads multidisciplinary teams and partners to ensure projects advance optimally and compliantly.

The Director will lead all aspects of major capital build and construction efforts, guiding project definition, planning, and execution. This includes coordinating resources, managing governance, and encouraging cross‑functional alignment to ensure projects are driven with excellence.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide portfolio‑level leadership, integrating strategy, execution, and governance across multiple large capital projects.

  • Own project delivery KPIs and enable proactive decision‑making through transparent reporting.

  • Lead risk, change, and issue management with clear escalation pathways and recovery planning.

  • Build, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams, fostering an inclusive, safety‑focused culture.

  • Ensure compliance with J&J standards and regulatory expectations throughout design, construction, C&Q, and startup.

Expanded Scope (Role‑Specific)

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of QC Laboratory facilities (analytical and microbiology), ensuring controlled environments and robust environmental monitoring.

  • Be responsible for strategy and execution of the Administration building, enabling adaptable workspace, collaboration zones, and long‑term flexibility.

  • Direct the design and implementation of a fully automated, lights‑off Warehouse/Logistics facility, including WMS/MES/ERP integration and cold‑chain capability.

  • Ensure compliant material flow from receiving to production, including hazardous, refrigerated, and controlled materials.

  • Coordinate building systems integration—access control, EMS/BMS, data/IT/OT—to enable stable, validated operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (advanced degree preferred).

  • 10+ years leading large, sophisticated projects in FDA/EMA‑regulated environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and external partners.

  • Strong financial competence and mastery of schedule and risk management.

  • Fluency in English; ability to travel 25–50%.

Preferred Qualifications (Role‑Specific)

  • Experience delivering QC laboratories and administrative facilities in regulated environments.

  • Hands‑on experience with automated warehouses (AS/RS, AGVs/AMRs, shuttle systems) and cold‑chain design.

  • Strong understanding of environmental monitoring, controlled spaces, and IT/OT integration.
