Position Summary:
As a Senior Analyst Contracts, you will be responsible for the general preparation and distribution of all contract documents pertaining to CVS Healtspire Payor & Life Sciences business unit. As a member of the Legal team, you will prepare documents pertinent to the contracting process. These documents will include proposals, contracts, amendments, responses to RFPs, clinical trial agreements, MSAs, SOWs, and confidentiality agreements. You will coordinate the assemblage of this information and corresponding operational area approvals across departments for timely and accurate submission to external clients.
The Senior Analyst will work with operational area owners to implement contract deliverables. This individual will also be responsible for general upkeep of the maintenance of contract records in the contract management system , as well as assist with or take the lead on contract research projects, tracking logs, contract files, and general support of the contracting team with respect to clinical research, federal grants, including special projects, and corporate-wide initiatives. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience negotiating contract documents
- 2+ years’ experience executing the life cycle of a contract from beginning to completion (RFP through execution, when necessary), including the contract approval process
- 2+ years knowledge of clinical trials and basic contracting
- 2+ years knowledge of healthcare contracting
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years direct contract negotiation experience.
- 5+ years’ experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Operational knowledge of providing in clinical research services requirements and clinical trial experience desired.
- Knowledge of medical and pharmacy provider environment, FDA guidance and Good Clinical Practice compliance is highly preferred
- Experience working or knowledge of HBS/SPARCS, RxClaim, HcN, or ACIS platforms desired.
- Efficient in Excel a plus.
- 5+ years’ experience negotiating clinical trial contracts.
- Experience working directly with external clients during contract negotiations.
- Manage the life cycle of a contract from beginning to completion (RFP through execution, when necessary), including the contract approval process.
- Analyze and identify contract provisions that impact current business operations.
- Interpret basic contract language from a business perspective.
- Draft contract language from a business perspective.
- Communicate contract deliverables to the respective operational areas.
- Prepare contract documents with corresponding fee schedule(s) for execution.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Customer service oriented, active listening and organizational skills, ability to prioritize, attention to detail, and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously is imperative.
- Ability to conduct presentations to co-workers at all levels within the organization.
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to reflect on past experiences/knowledge and appropriately apply to new or similar situations.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
Education:
Associated degree required and Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal degree strongly preferred.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$43,700.00 - $102,000.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
