Summary

The Corporate Finance department is responsible for overseeing AeroVironment's accounting and financial reporting functions. Accounting acts as a customer service partner, providing financial information not only to other organizations within the Company, but to our external auditors and investors who rely on our financial statements as filed with the SEC.

As a Finance Intern, one is fully immersed in our collaborative culture that is built on diversity of thought. We will look for your curiosity and your unique point of view. We push forward one's development as an accountant and a leader alike through comprehensive, on-the-job training, participation in the year-end audit process and personalized liaisons to help you navigate your internship. The Finance intern reports to the Director of Finance and is given meaningful projects along with the opportunity to interact with external auditors and leadership.

Position Responsibilities

  • Shadows members of the Finance team as they perform their duties

  • Prepares and records journal entries utilizing our Oracle ERP system

  • Performs financial analyses

  • Assists with preparation of financial footnote information and participate in the annual 10-K reporting process including meeting with the CFO, General Counsel and other Finance executives

  • Handles sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity

  • Performs additional projects as needed to learn more about accounting operations (e.g. adoption of new revenue and leasing standards)

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Currently enrolled Junior, Senior or Grad Student pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting

  • Completed coursework relevant to major

  • Experienced and proficient with software tools in one's area of expertise

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
