Department/Product Overview:

The Integrated Marketing team is responsible for leading the process of developing RFP 

responses from end to end, ensuring that they’re not only delivered on time and on budget for our clients, but that they also drive our clients’ businesses and lead to long term partnerships with The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s Group.

The Integrated Marketing team brings together the right people and resources to provide the best possible ideas and strategies to our customers -- understanding client goals, assembling teams of specialists, and leading the process to success. We need an individual who is passionate about print and digital advertising, who can work in a fast-paced environment and who's excited about writing and creating proposals that make our advertisers want to work with the WSJ.

Success within the Integrated Marketing team requires a passion for media, an editorial mindset, and a high standard for visual presentations, all brought to life through a working understanding of the current media and advertising landscape. The right candidate must also be able to translate data and insights into compelling and engaging advertising and branded content programs.

About the Role/Position:

The Integrated Marketing (IM) Manager will be responsible for preparing the entire presale process as the first point of contact with Sales. The IM Manager will lead both brand and custom RFP ideation and will be responsible for leading collaboration across relevant areas of the organization (including Sales, Product Strategy, The Trust, Ad Operations & Planning, Research, Events, etc.) to develop pitches and integrated programs for clients.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Manage and lead individual daily pitch and proposal work that responds to client needs and telegraphs the value of The Wall Street Journal & Barron's Group media offerings, including determining custom content production budgets, media plan components, deal health, etc.

  • Have a broad understanding of all The Wall Street Journal & Barron's Group media ad products and creative capabilities

  • Develop and articulate creative marketing programs in many forms, including written creative proposals and visually-motivated pitch decks, with minimal oversight and direction from Director

  • Use research and data to share insights and support value propositions for client pitches and proposals

  • Staying up-to-date with new product and feature launches

  • Lead creation of advertiser case studies and work with relevant MMS teams to create cohesive story

  • Create, manage, and update marketing collateral used for client meetings and presentations

 

Knowledge/Experience Preferred:

  • B.A. or B.S., plus minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a sales marketing function - preferably within publishing and/or digital advertising environment

  • A foundational understanding of ad sales, media planning, as well as content marketing and emerging digital and social platforms

  • Knowledge of basic research/analytical metrics

  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize projects

  • Curiosity in an environment of constant learning and change

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven atmosphere

  • A positive, can-do attitude, team player

  • Commitment to excellence. No job too big, no job too small

Preferred Tools/Skills:

  • Design and deck building skills using tools such as Google Slides, Powerpoint, Canva, etc. 

  • Ability to lead the entire pre-sale process from initial sales briefing, budgeting, revisions thru  to postsale transition handoff

  • Ability to learn and use internal systems such Factiva, Dow Jones InSite, etc to help build presale narrative

  • Strong organizational, project management, writing, strategy/storytelling and presentation skills, and a high attention to detail

  • Demonstrated problem solving, resourcefulness and critical thinking skills

  • Measurement and budget management skills 

  • Strong interpersonal skills

Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000
