MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN - JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a china. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.

 

This role is contributing to the Electrification Products division in China (Greater China region). Main stakeholders are the Manufacturing Engineering Team, Product Development Teams, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain Management.

 

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Collaborating with various engineering teams to support ABB's mechanical product development, ensuring effective coordination and successful project completion within the defined timelines.
• Utilizing understanding of customers' needs and ABB's mechanical solutions to determine effective technical solutions, ensuring successful project outcomes aligned with customer requirements.
• Participating in design reviews, engineering meetings, and collaborative problem-solving sessions to optimize mechanical designs and manufacturing processes.
• Seeking feedback and guidance from manager and team members to improve technical skills and professional development.

 

 

Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)

 

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (currently enrolled or recently graduated)
• You have practical experience or strong theoretical knowledge in mechanical design, CAD software (CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, or AutoCAD), and product development processes
• Demonstrated proficiency in CAD modeling, technical drawing creation, and 3D design - with hands-on experience in professional design software environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering principles to real-world mechanical challenges
• Passionate about continuous learning, innovation, and contributing to sustainable engineering solutions in the electrification industry
• Advanced proficiency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory; Mandarin Chinese is highly desirable
