The opportunity

We offer the widest and most modern portfolio of GCBs in SF6 technology across a range of short circuit ratings from 63 kA to 300 kA and continuous currents from 6,300 A to over 50,000 A.  

GCBs increase protection of key equipment like generators and power transformers, ensure power plant availability, simplify operational procedures and reduce costs.  

We offer unique features like lean manufacturing for the shortest delivery time and the ability to participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) personally or remotely using Remote Factory Acceptance Test (RFAT) from any place with access to internet connection

As a key player in the application studies and business development of the GCB market within your designated area, you will align with the Global Product Group strategy. Your role involves building long-term customer relationships and addressing specific customer needs and issues. You will identify and develop sales opportunities by equipping sales organizations with relevant knowledge of products and markets. Additionally, you will serve as the technical advisor for GCB applications, collaborating closely with Engineering, R&D, and Project Management teams.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Performs studies of electromagnetic transients in power system, e.g. short-circuit current, transient recovery voltage, ferro-resonance or insulation coordination

  • Conducts reliability analysis of generator circuit-breakers together with life cycle cost analysis and keep updated statistics of Hitachi Energy installed base

  • Organizes and participates in customer workshops and technical trainings

  • Supports customers with technical requests

  • Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promotes customer understanding of GCB offering. Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process

  • Supports the local Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate, advanced and cost-effective solutions and in the preparation of demanding offers.

  • Provides technical support during the technical meeting, product presentations, negotiations and offers product/solution related training

Your background

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering

  • At least 3 years of experience in power engineering roles

  • Good command of EMTP (or ETAP, NEPLAN etc.), MATLAB and AutoCAD with proven experience

  • Business fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional language skills beneficial.

  • High customer orientation and pro-active mindset

  • Team working skills

  • Willingness to travel internationally (30%) and work in a global team
