About the Role
The Walt Disney Company is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Lead Software Engineer to join the ServiceNow ITSM team within Enterprise Technology. This team builds and supports platforms that enable Disney’s technology teams to manage cloud environments and enterprise services efficiently and securely.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of complex IT Service Management solutions on the ServiceNow platform. This role requires strong technical leadership, deep ServiceNow expertise, and the ability to guide development teams while ensuring architectural excellence and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of ServiceNow developers in designing and implementing ITSM solutions
Architect complex ServiceNow applications and integrations across multiple ITSM modules
Define technical standards, development methodologies, and coding best practices for the team
Collaborate with business stakeholders and solution architects to translate requirements into scalable technical designs
Oversee the development of custom applications, workflows, and automated processes
Design and implement enterprise-level integrations with external systems and platforms
Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to security, performance, and quality standards
Lead technical discussions and provide expertise during solution design sessions
Manage development lifecycle from requirements gathering through deployment and support
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and platform optimization efforts
Provide technical guidance on ServiceNow platform capabilities and limitations
Coordinate with other technical teams and vendors for complex implementations
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
6+ years of experience in ServiceNow development with 2+ years in a leadership role
Expert-level knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture and ITSM modules
Strong leadership and team management experience
Advanced proficiency in ServiceNow scripting, APIs, and integration technologies
Deep understanding of ITIL framework and enterprise IT service management processes
Experience with large-scale ServiceNow implementations and platform governance
Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects on time and within scope
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications required
Strong communication skills and ability to interact with senior stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Technical Architect certification
Experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Discovery, and Service Mapping
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern integration patterns
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
PMP or similar project management certification
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and leading cross-functional teams
Strong business acumen and understanding of IT operations in enterprise environments
