The Bath Health and Wellness Center’s Cancer Care team is comprised of hematology, oncology and infusion therapy care. This experienced team works collaboratively to take cancer treatment to the next level by treating the patient, not the disease. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) from 8:00AM – 4:30PM. It will be required to float between all three satellite locations – Bath, Green and Stow. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide nursing care in accordance with the Standards of Safe Nursing Practice/Ohio Administrative Code and Understanding Scopes of Practice/Ohio Board of Nursing and ANA Scope and Standards of Care.  

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population within the established standards and practices of AGMC. 

  • Complete ongoing assessments. 

  • Safely administer treatments and medications.  

  • Accurately administer and document chemotherapy, IVs and other medications according to established standards of care and policies and procedures including investigational chemotherapy. 

  • Enter laboratory, EKG and procedure orders/charges as applicable without errors. 

  • Obtain chemotherapy certification in accordance with departmental policy. 

  • Recognize significant changes in patient's condition and respond appropriately. 

  • Complete mandatory education and training to maintain competencies, requirements, certification and/or licensure.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN program) 

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) 

  • One year of Chemotherapy/Oncology experience  

  • Chemotherapy Certification 

 
Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

  • Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
