Job Summary: The Senior Project Manager will be a key contributor to the QOET PMO, responsible for independently managing a portfolio of complex and strategic engineering projects. This role involves close collaboration with QOET Engineering Leads and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently, risks are mitigated, and objectives are met. The Senior PM will play a crucial role in driving accountability and providing clear project status updates.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently manage a distinct category or portfolio of complex or strategic QOET projects, collaborating closely with Engineering Leads and relevant functional teams.
Facilitate detailed project planning sessions, define scope, objectives, success metrics, and resource needs for assigned projects.
Monitor overall project progress against plans, identify deviations, and proactively work with Engineering Leads to implement corrective actions.
Ensure rigorous adherence to QOET PMO processes, standards, and templates across their projects.
Proactively identify, track, and manage significant project risks and issues, escalating critical items to the PMO Lead or Lead PM.
Drive accountability from QOET Engineering Leads and project team members for project deliverables and milestones.
Lead the resolution of project roadblocks and delays, engaging cross-functional stakeholders (IT, Manufacturing, Planning) as needed.
Prepare and deliver accurate and timely project status reports and updates for assigned projects to the PMO Lead and relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with Engineering Leads/DRIs on project communications.
Provide clear and concise updates, seeking guidance from the PMO Lead and Lead PM for high-impact decisions or complex conflicts.
Provide guidance and support to the Project Manager and Associate PM on best practices and problem-solving.
Champion the use of PMO templates and tools within their assigned projects.
Provide feedback for process and tool refinement.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of proven project management experience, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder management.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing and collaborating effectively.
Solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
Analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project management software.
Familiarity with Power BI for reporting and analysis is a plus.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
Effective interpersonal skills, able to build strong working relationships.
PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification preferred.
