Summary: 

Technical leadership in regards to designing, developing, and trouble shooting the Enterprise middleware APIs developed in Mulesoft.  A mindset and ability for optimizing the current environment, APIs, licensing costs, effective monitoring tools, and automation.  Actively interact with primary customers to develop new or modified functionality, improve system and data quality, and proactively assist with strategic endeavors. 

Functions of the position:

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience with Mulesoft and overall, 7 to 8 years of experience.
  • Programming experience (ex. Java or Python) to build automation
  • API Design (REST, GraphQL, … experience)
  • Integration DevOps to automate API build, deployment and monitoring
  • Expert in application development technologies used by their team and actively working with other teams across the enterprise for system integrations.
  • Ability to lead work with analysts and test engineers to move application changes through the stages of development, including changes from less experienced members of the team.
  • Directs and supports maintenance and modification of applications as directed.
  • Owns technical design and code architecture within their application.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the wider application ecosystem of the enterprise.
  • Firm understanding of the architecture of the enterprise's ecosystem and ability to lead discussions spanning multiple systems.
  • Ability to deliver across multiple application teams and work with scrum masters and managers to ensure obstacles are being addressed and the team is meeting delivery objectives.
  • Ensures that all code reviews within their application are following best practices and enterprise standards.
  • Work with peers to develop standards and best practices within their domain.
  • Participate in discussions regarding application changes across the enterprise.
  • Work with technology partners to ensure delivery is consistent with the enterprise's quality and delivery standards.
  • Assists in raising the knowledge and skill level of their team.
  • Demonstrates ability to move seamlessly to development teams.
  • Build relationships throughout the enterprise to share best practices, lessons learned and other relevant knowledge.
  • Work with business partners to anticipate needs and proactively suggests best technology solution to meet business objectives
  • Promotes the use of, and mentors the team in the use of new technologies like Gen AI to be more effective and efficient in completing deliverables
  • Actively pursues opportunities to leverage new technologies like Gen AI to improve efficiency and/or deliver new capabilities for the business
  • Experience in support activities, incident management and resolution.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in learning and using multiple development languages.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies
  • Excellent organizational skills, with proven analytical, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Placement criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or commensurate experience displaying consistently exceptional performance and skills.
  • Leadership and professionalism characteristics as demonstrated through performance.
  • Must have the willingness and desire to understand the insurance business.
  • Must have excellent problem solving, interpersonal and communications skills.
