About the role:
Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Senior Design Engineer position located in the West Fargo, North Dakota facility.  In this role, you will be the Product Engineer for a portion of the Reman drivetrain product families. The Reman drivetrain team is accountable for the overall quality and warranty of existing products, support of product and process salvage improvement projects to manage costs, and execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs introducing new product offerings for our dealers and customers.

Job responsibilities will Include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for Reman drivetrain products and performs necessary print maintenance & releasing.
• Responsible for evaluating Reman drivetrain products for remanufacturing feasibility in support of NPI projects.
• Responsible for understanding and tracking product warranty and watching for emerging trends or issues.
• Support production and quality issues for Reman drivetrain product built in Reman facilities.
• Evaluate new component salvage projects / techniques.
• Develop and execute validation plans to ensure salvage projects meet quality and warranty goals.

• Technical Excellence: Extensive Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
• Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Extensive Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.
• Product Design - MFG: Extensive Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
• Product Design and Development: Extensive Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Top Candidates Will Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or Materials Science curriculum.
• Experience in drivetrain design, development, and/or manufacturing.
• Experience with Advanced Failure Analysis & Joint Failure Analysis
• Experience with interacting with internal partners and external suppliers

Additional Information:

• Relocation assistance IS available for this role.
• The primary location for this role is West Fargo, North Dakota.
• 15-20% will be required for this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
