Department Clinical Care Coordinator

Position Highlights:

  • Location: Evanston, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:00pm
  • Required Travel: Yes

What you will do:

  • Manage day to day clinical operations and unit workflow/throughput
  • Handle routine calls, support patient scheduling, and manage the physician's Clinical and OR schedules
  • Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
  • Inputting referrals and communicating with patients and the precertification staff regarding status
  • Act as the primary point of contact for departmental inquiries and provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders
  • Take responsibility for scheduling complex appointments, meetings, and conference calls for department members and department heads
  • Template management and on call schedule management in conjunction with Practice Manager
  • Lead and support department-specific projects and initiatives, conducting research, data analysis, and providing presentations to department leadership
  • Manage office supplies and equipment, including ordering, maintaining adequate stock levels, and tracking budgets and expenses
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of administrative strategies and policies, under the guidance of the department head
  • Would assume direct patient care if necessary

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Certification: Registered Nurse License Preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in appropriate clinical setting required
    • The ability and self-assurance to be assertive and innovative when collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
    • The organizational skills to manage daily operations, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work according to timelines and monitor outcomes and actions
    • The organizational and decision-making skills necessary to work independently and anticipate, prioritize, follow through, and effectively manage time and resources
    • Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
    • Guide and direct a team of care-givers in providing high quality care, while ensuring patient is scheduled correctly through review of recommendation and diagnosis
