Our Expeditions Program is looking for an entry-level Expedition Logistics Support to ensure our field expeditions go off without a hitch! Our Logistics Support staff help with the preparation of equipment, food, gear, and inventory for our five-day backcountry trips.  You will love this job if you’re a highly organized, motivated outdoors enthusiast looking for a fun, rewarding summer opportunity. 

Important Details

  • Work Schedule: About 20 hours/week; In order to support trips leaving on Sunday and returning on Friday’s, Logistic Support staff are asked to work Thursday - Sunday.

  • Position Duration: Training begins June 2. Programs run from Jun 14 through August 1.

  • Compensation: Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure. Starting hourly rate: $23.00/hour

      • Wilderness First Aid: $100

      • Wilderness First Responder: $350

      • Additional bonuses: $100 - $400 per certification!

In this role you will

  • Work with the Expeditions Food Manager to manage weekly food pack outs for regional

  • Expedition Trips including inventory, purchasing, and dietary restriction planning

  • Lead the weekly de-issue process at the end of Expeditions for both gear and food

  • Perform repairs on gear to ensure campers have stellar and safe trips- including tents, stoves, bikes, etc.

  • Send trips out with clean, functioning, and well maintained gear

  • Perform admin work (updating spreadsheets, ordering food online;  gather data from registration system) and make real time changes to enhance the program

Your Background 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of training with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Experience with cooking in the backcountry required; experience with repairing camping gear preferred

  • Minimum of Basic/Community First Aid & CPR prior to the start of camp. (WFA/WFR preferred, but not required)

  • Have reliable transportation to move food and gear between locations
