Job Summary:

The Product Line Manager will have full product lifecycle responsibility for select products in our Data Center marketing team. The successful candidate for this role will understand the dynamics of the Data Center market, including customer requirements for existing and future designs, use cases, technical requirements, the competitive environment and market shares.  This role will report to the Director, Data Center Marketing.
 

Key responsibilities for this role includes:
 

  • Work closely with our customers, field sales and technical support teams to provide business and technical assistance in order to grow Semtech’s share of the data center market.  

  • Interface with internal design teams to ensure customer requirements are achieved

  • Interaction with product definition/architects to help define product specifications, reflecting customer and market needs
     

A strong background in analog, mixed signal optical ICs including CDRs, TIAs, and laser and modulator drivers, along with the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed marketing, sales, and engineering teams, is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with R&D team to create PRD to develop new products 

  • Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of Semtech’s products to the sales channels and the sales tools that support the selling process of your products

  • Product launch – manage and execute the planning and launch of products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan

  • Work closely with local technical support teams and sales to accelerate customer’s time to market and commercial success.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and partners

  • Deliver to annual business objectives and goals as set by the business unit

  • Develop end of life and communication framework for products and associated customers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or equivalent with preference given to candidates with advanced degrees

  • 4 or more years of relevant experience working with analog/mixed signal products for the optical data communications markets (TIAs, Drivers, CDRs, etc.)

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to interact at all levels in the organization

  • Excellent decision making and judgment skill in order to drive complex Marketing requirements and projects to success

  • Demonstrated strong communication and influencing skills, along with ability to work with diverse communities and geographic locations is essential

  • Flexibility to travel globally ~25-35%

  • Ability to multi-task, managing several high priority customers/requests simultaneously

  • Highly self-motivated with a desire to win and push the technical boundaries
