Join Accenture The Dock, our multidisciplinary research and incubation hub located in the heart of Dublin 2’s tech quarter. The Research Community of Practice (CoP) supports Accenture and its clients to deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity.

We take account of the human factors that our clients must address in order to realize their business ambitions. We do this through using evidence in thoughtful and pragmatic ways, and working alongside business strategists, technologists, and designers. We are an agile and people-centred team with a commitment to research excellence, critical thinking, and empowerment.

Role Outline

The successful candidate will contribute to our primary and secondary research efforts in behaviour change to help clients and colleagues in their daily work. Our behaviour change work centres on how we may use deep understanding of humans to help meet a range of business needs, from AI adoption through to introducing new workflows into organisations, as well as a host of other innovation challenges linked to changing business models for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use robust behavioural science frameworks to structure behaviour change efforts.

  • Source secondary research materials as guided by researchers on the team.

  • Liaise with colleagues within and across projects, to make sure that research inputs contribute meaningfully to project outputs.

  • Direct and guide less experienced colleagues in behaviour change tasks.

  • Understand and use logical return on investment thinking in behaviour change programmes.

  • Conduct a range of project management tasks to ensure that work is done in a timely and smooth manner.

  • Contribute to primary research efforts (including logistics, note-taking, and write-up).

  • Convert findings from secondary research efforts to usable inputs for presentations and documents.

  • Apply core business strategy knowledge to business research problems.

  • Synthesize primary research outputs into usable inputs for presentations and documents.

  • Maintain an appropriate level of administration to ensure research tasks are done efficiently and effectively.

  • Other tasks may arise organically as we identify needs, skills and interests.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of behavioural science, as evidenced in undergraduate or postgraduate training (essential).

  • Excellent communication skills (essential).

  • Working knowledge of MS applications, especially Teams and PowerPoint (essential).

  • Ability to understand quantitative and qualitative data forms, and what good looks like in both.

  • Some experience of directing the work of more junior colleagues (highly desirable).

  • Client experience in the fields of behavioural science/behavioural change (highly desirable).

Value for the Successful Candidate

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of our portfolio of work: key research capabilities, methods and application of human and social science research to business challenges in behaviour change.

  • Gain experience in turning theory work into applied work.

  • Develop a high-grade understanding of how AI is changing the jobs done by workers.

  • Understand how the innovation function of The Dock and its teams delivers value for Accenture and our clients.

  • Guide the work of talented junior colleagues.

  • Gain awareness of a broad range of client work across industries and markets.
