Our Insurance Claims team plays a critical role in supporting members when they need us most, and we’re looking for a Claims Compliance and Assurance Manager to lead the strategic oversight of compliance, assurance and risk across the Claims function.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for strengthening compliance maturity, ensuring regulatory obligations are met, and protecting positive member outcomes across all claims activities.
What you’ll be responsible for
Leading the strategy, governance and continuous uplift of Claims compliance and assurance frameworks.
Providing strategic oversight of quality assurance across all Claim types to drive improved outcomes, service levels and member experience.
Ensuring regulatory, process and system changes impacting Claims are effectively designed, implemented and embedded.
Monitoring emerging insurance and regulatory trends, assessing impacts to Claims and leading appropriate strategic responses.
Acting as the senior escalation point for compliance and regulatory matters within the Claims division.
Providing trusted advice to leaders, balancing regulatory requirements, member outcomes and operational considerations.
Leading and developing the Compliance & Assurance function, including the Compliance & Assurance Lead.
Driving a strong risk culture across Claims, providing guidance and challenge where compliance or risk standards are not met.
What you’ll bring
Significant experience within general insurance claims, with strong exposure to compliance, assurance or risk management.
Senior leadership experience within a regulated environment.
Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders and driving compliance outcomes across complex organisations.
Experience leading specialist or professional teams.
Strong understanding of the general insurance regulatory environment.
Ability to interpret legislation, regulatory expectations and industry codes, translating them into practical governance and assurance frameworks.
Proven ability to set risk-based priorities and strategic work programs.
Exceptional influencing and advisory skills, with confidence challenging senior leaders to achieve compliant outcomes.
High levels of resilience, professionalism and discretion when managing complex regulatory matters.
Tertiary qualification in risk, compliance, insurance, finance, business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
