Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join the Bridgton Hospital Diagnostic Ultrasound team!

This is a part-time, 24 hours per week, benefit eligible position.

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs patient assessments, acquires and analyzes data obtained using ultrasound, and uses independent judgment and systematic problem-solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimize patient care.  Provides a summary of findings to the physician or health care provider to aid in patient diagnosis and management. Participates in CQI activities.

Education and experience:

  • Prefer two years of radiologic/imaging experience. 

  • Specific experience and training in Ultrasound and proficient knowledge of Ultrasound Equipment ARDMS Registered or ARDMS candidate. 

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-approved school of Ultrasonography, or has received education and clinical experience and demonstrated competence to obtain appropriate ARDMS certification within a year of hire preferred.

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. Recertification of existing employees is due within one month of expiration date

  • Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology
