DESCRIPTION:
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Staff Engineer, Manufacturing and make a meaningful impact on global health, environmental protection, and food safety. As an advocate for continuous improvement, you'll innovate manufacturing processes and guide critical projects that enhance operational efficiency. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement advanced solutions, optimize production workflows, and ensure compliance with quality standards. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to support team members' development, manage complex technical projects, and contribute to our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience implementing process improvements in manufacturing environments
• Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or related technical field)
• Knowledge of GMP regulations, Quality Management Systems, and workplace safety standards
• Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and practical process improvement techniques
• Project management experience, including budget control and vendor management
• Experience with automated manufacturing equipment and control systems
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining technical documentation (SOPs, validation protocols, work instructions)
• Strong financial acumen for investment justification and cost-benefit analysis
• Advanced knowledge of industrial engineering principles and manufacturing processes
• Experience in equipment commissioning, validation (IQ, OQ, PQ), and training
• Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional teams
• Experience with PLC programming and control systems (Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Siemens) preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimize high-mix production environments
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with ability to work with stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical software applications
• Ability to work in a regulated environment and maintain strict compliance standards

Office and laboratory settings, requiring occasional travel and adherence to safety protocols.
