Role Definition
Manage customs operation, import/export, on-time delivery activities and procedures to ensure compliance, customer satisfaction

Responsibilities
•    Coordinating procedures across functions for the import and export management to ensure the execution of compliant shipments and foster a cooperative atmosphere towards customer service.
•    Monitoring special programs of import/export accounts; assisting in the obtaining and preparing all necessary documentations in related logistics business.

Degree or equivalent experience desired

Skill Descriptors
Office Support Tools: Knowledge of commonly used office hardware, software and equipment; ability to use the tools available at the desktop (for example: word processing, email, presentation software, and spreadsheets.)
Level Basic Understanding: 
•    Identifies current office software environment and its component products.
•    Describes basic concepts and terminology for office-product applications.
•    Uses key features and facilities of office software available at the desktop.
•    Employs help resources (manuals, on-line help, help desk, tutorial facilities) as needed.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Level Working Knowledge: 
•    Accurately gauges the impact and cost of errors, omissions, and oversights.
•    Utilizes specific approaches and tools for checking and cross-checking outputs.

•    Develops and uses checklists to ensure that information goes out error-free.

Internal Resource Coordination: Knowledge of the techniques, tools and applications associated with coordination of internal resources; ability to synchronize and integrate activities, responsibilities, and command and control structures to ensure that internal resources are used most efficiently in pursuit of business objectives.

•    Identifies basic characteristics of good business relationships or partnerships.
•    Attends training to learn coordination skills with individuals and groups.
•    Lists major techniques, tools and approaches for resource coordination.

Import/Export - MFG: Knowledge of issues, procedures, tools and practices of importing and exporting; ability to import and export goods to and from international locations.
Level Extensive Experience: 
•    Obtains rapid clearance or exemptions for perishable or urgent shipments.
•    Monitors and communicates prohibitions and restrictions on categories of goods.
•    Manages audit activities for import/exports; provides responses to audit questions.
•    Consults on U.S. restrictions placed on exports/imports and associated controls and licensing.
•    Oversees the imports and exports for a broad range of organization's international vendors or partners.
•    Arranges transit licenses and temporary importation when needed.

Transportation - MFG: Knowledge of transportation; ability to transport materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers.
Level Basic Understanding: 
•    Explains basic measurements used in transportation management.
•    Locates and interprets carrier costs, rates and time requirements.
•    Identifies the various modes of transportation and their application.
•    Describes the types, purpose and use of basic shipping documents.

Logistics Management: Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies.
Level Basic Understanding: 
•    Documents internal and external informative sources or proprietary materials about logistics management.
•    Describes basic logistical processes and sub-processes.
•    Explains how improvements in logistics contribute to competitive advantage in the marketplace.
•    Identifies issues and considerations for inbound and outbound logistics.

Vendor Management: Knowledge of vendor management methodologies, technologies and processes; ability to gain increased value and excellent services from vendors, as well as costs control and risk mitigation throughout the deal life cycle.
Level Working Knowledge: 
•    Resolves routine supplier issues; escalates non-routine issues up chain of command.
•    Works with vendors to ensure that purchases meet delivery date and quality specifications
•    Researches alternative vendors or suppliers; participates in supplier selection.
•    Acts as the routine contact point between the organization and vendors.
•    Follows procedures in carrying out routine supplier management tasks.
