We are seeking an 8+years experienced Senior DBA with expertise in PostgreSQL (primary stack), Cassandra, and MongoDB to join our team. The ideal candidate comes from a product-based company and has managed high-scale environments (1M+ requests/sec) with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • High-Scale DB Management: Experience handling databases at scale (1M+ requests/sec).
  • Zero Downtime Migrations: Expertise in Blue-Green Deployments and planning seamless database migrations.
  • Database Architecture & CAP Theorem: Deep understanding of CAP theorem to recommend the right database for different use cases.
  • Autonomous Scaling: Ability to design auto-scaling strategies for databases while optimizing cost.
  • Performance Optimization: Proactively identify and resolve slow queries in staging before they impact production.
  • Database Automation: Implement automated workflows for updates and deletions, while ensuring proper approval mechanisms.
  • IAM & Access Management: Transition database access from traditional access keys to role-based authentication for enhanced security.
  • Instrumentation across various open source and paid tools to get the required metrics 
Required Skills & Experience
  • From product based companies 
  • Proven experience in PostgreSQL (main stack), Cassandra, and MongoDB.
  • Strong background in high-traffic, large-scale environments.
  • Hands-on experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
  • Expertise in database security, IAM roles, and access control.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD for database deployments and automation tools.
  • Ability to collaborate with developers and DevOps teams for efficient database operations.

Education

  • Master's degree preferred but not required if compensated by equivalent experience
Work Environment

  • Hybrid work environment with some on-site presence required

  • May require occasional weekend work for major deployments or upgrades
