The Local Alternative Investment team manages a portfolio of $4 bn. in assets under management for Afore Citibanamex. The team manages a broad suite of investment strategies within single and multi-asset class products. The team is currently seeking an Alternative Investments Analyst to join our team of investment professionals and contribute to the investment management and portfolio construction capabilities. The candidate will be part of the team responsible for the daily management of the Local Alternative’s portfolio and the execution of the strategy.

The Alternative Investment Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of fundamental analysis for new investment opportunities. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of information. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribution to overall investment strategy, design, and implementation of portfolio and risk guidelines.
  • Stay abreast of trends and news, maintain pro-active views, and communicate conclusions/recommendations concerning pertinent sectors and macroeconomic trends and developments.
  • Creation of ad-hoc reports: monthly portfolio reporting, support on the creation of materials (PPT and memo) for new investment opportunities approval.
  • Pipeline (sourcing): processing and analysis of eligibility.
  • Support in the due diligence process of new funds or investment opportunities in all asset classes (funds and co-investments).
  • Support on Legal contract review for new opportunities.
  • Local Portfolio Management support: recurring decision-making in +60 funds through the Technical Committee and the Holders' Assembly.   
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Support on BAU to comply with internal controls and regulation.                        

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferable direct experience in the asset management/ investment industry
  • Familiarity with Alternative Investments asset class
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of, and the ability to stay abreast of regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of risk factors that drive investment performance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail
  • Well organised
  • Strong PC skills including Work, Excel, PowerPoint, and applicable internal systems

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience

Esta area esta a cargo de las inversiones privadas o inversiones alternativas esclusivamente de México. (infraestructura, compañias privadas, real state, credito privado)

Principales actvidades:

  • Buscar y analizar oportunidades de inversión en los diferentes sectores(pipeline).
  • Análisis profundo (debida diligencia) de las potenciales oportunidades de inversión.
  • Presentar la informacion ante comités.
  • Negociar contratos con ayuda del equipo de legal.
  • Gestionar el porfatolio actual en inversiones alternativas locales (+60 fondos)

Requisitos:

  • Licenciatura terminada, deseable economia, finanzas e ingenierias.
  • 0 a 2 años de experiencia preferentemente en inversiones /deseable inversiones alternativas .
  • Dominio del idioma ingles a nivel intermedio (hablarlo, escribirlo y entenderlo).
  • Deseable certificación CFA (nivel 1).
  • Facilidad para aprender.
  • Proactivo.
