Qualifications:
Minimum of one (1) of the following required:
Minimum of two (2) years’ DME experience.
Minimum of two (2) years’ healthcare billing experience.
Strong knowledge of insurance billing and reimbursement practices.
Familiarity with Medicare coverage criteria, Local Coverage Determinations (LCD), and industry regulations.
Experience in auditing, billing, and compliance within a healthcare or medical setting.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit & Documentation Compliance: Conduct thorough audits of patient account and provider-related clinical documentation to ensure compliance with insurance billing standards and department protocols.
Billing Support: Assist the billing office with appeals, re-determinations, and other billing issues related to patient accounts to ensure timely resolution and proper reimbursement.
Reimbursement Monitoring: Monitor insurance claim reimbursements and allowable amounts to maximize reimbursement opportunities and identify potential discrepancies.
Medicare Compliance: Stay up-to-date with Medicare coverage criteria and billing regulations to ensure adherence to Local Coverage Determinations (LCD) per department standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a resource for documentation requirements, guiding appropriate stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant billing practices.
Administrative Support: Perform a range of administrative, accounting, and billing tasks necessary to complete the business cycle efficiently and accurately.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly and accurately to audit requests and inquiries as per department procedures.
