About M&T Bank Corporate ReUse:
Completes activities related to installations, configurations, operation of computer hardware. M&T Corporate Reuse is a workplace support center focused on the strategic management of technology assets. The facility manages the asset lifecycle from acquisition to end-of-life, and serves as a configuration, end user support, distribution, forward and reverse logistics center for the corporation. The facility is also a retail outlet for end-of-life assets available for sale to the public. Ensures related procedures adhere to organizational values.
This position requires attendance on-site and is not eligible for hybrid schedules or work from home arrangements.
Overview:
Serves as a specialist in a group of services supported within the Corporate ReUse department. Manages all break fix devices to include laptops, desktops, printers, & thin clients. Manages the imaging process for related deficiencies. Manages the project queue for their area ensuring technological equipment is configured to conform to established guidelines. Completes activities related to installations, configurations, operations of systems hardware & software related to corporate technology equipment. Serves as a direct point of contact to clients and customers in the sale of refurbished technology equipment and customer explanation of systems within the device.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Technology Engineering management to include senior engineers and support teams on a regular basis to diagnose and imaging issues.
- Leads and takes ownership of the computer repair functions of bank owned PC and printers. Researches, troubleshoots, triage, repairs, and refurbishes devices returned to the facility to maximize return on investment to the bank.
- Completes OEM part orders using manufacturer ordering systems and maintains appropriate inventory levels of in-stock replacement parts to complete warranty repairs. Update all transaction through Service Now/Asset Track to control inventory for the organization.
- Troubleshoots and completes laptop, desktop, 2-in-1 laptop, tablet pc, thin client, workstation, and other hardware repairs. Assists with the repair and refurbishment of retail banking specialty devices.
- Replace components including motherboards, storage drives, screens, touchscreens, keyboards, chassis, cooling fans, wireless cards, charging ports, etc. Update BIOS/UEFI configurations as necessary. They will be required to install and configure new hardware and software, perform system upgrades, and provide technical support to end users.
- Collaborates with management and cross-functional teams to identify trends and report OEM quality issues to M&T Tech stakeholders.
- Facilitates meetings and maintains dialogue with vendors to provide analysis and follow up regarding open warranty service (repair) tickets, part replacement orders, and defective component rates.
- Serves as a direct point of contact to customers in the sale of refurbished technology equipment.
- Completes activities related to inventory management including receiving assets, recording quantity details, and physical accountability. Provides daily inventory information to cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Performs inventory cycle counts and maintains accurate inventory information. Use specialized inventory software and barcode scanners to manage records and databases of corporate technology assets.
- Image and configure computers in preparation for deployment. Complete diagnostic testing, imaging, repair, cleaning, and refurbishment of computers and peripheral devices to maximize value to the bank.
- Supports the discovery, reclamation, transport, and evaluation of unused equipment throughout the bank.
- Follow and promote use of industry best practices, standards, and procedures. Recommend and initiate new polices and procedures that improve performance and effectiveness of the Department.
- Perform an assessment of quality and condition of equipment to estimate potential resale value. Assists with refurbishment of salvageable surplus items for profitable sale to maximize return or benefit to the Bank.
- Use specialized software to remove data from retired assets prior to disposal or resale in compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards.
- Facilitates meetings and conference calls with vendors and internal staff. Coordinate vendor interactions and/or vendor resources as needed.
- Contribute to IT asset disposition (ITAD) and responsible e-waste recycling efforts. Deconstruct retired assets to recoup potential value from components.
- Maintain a strong aptitude and working knowledge of bank applications, systems development environments. Maintain a detailed understanding of vendor technologies and services used by the Bank.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain the safety of common workspaces throughout the warehouse and adhere to safety protocols while operating forklifts, electric pallet jacks, fleet vehicles, and machinery.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Recommends modifications to internal & external policies, standards, and processes to drive efficiency and ensure compliance.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology related field or Minimum of 5 years higher education and/or work experience.
- Prior experience reading and digesting technical information.
- Certified as a commercial HP/Dell Break Fix technician
- Detailed-oriented
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong technical knowledge of computer repair with ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
- Motivated to learn independently and able to learn quickly in a rapid pace environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and influencing skills.
- Proficiency using ServiceNow or other ITSM platform.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Proficiency using meeting collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and Cisco WebEx.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in team environment.
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to obtain forklift operator certification within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to operate dollies and pallet jacks.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in preferred technology related field or Minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience
- Preferred certifications or special training in Dell, HP, CompTIA A+, or Apple Device Support Certification in related technologies.
- Understanding of how people, processes and technology within an organization interact to provide input and support feasible solutions on projects.
- Experience in any of the following areas: help desk, desk side support, field technician, customer service or computer repair.
- Effective influencing skills.
Physical Requirements:
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $24.76 - $41.27 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
