Anglian Water offers a flexible approach; this role provides you with the opportunity to combine working from home and from an Anglian Water office.  You will be required to work a minimum of 2 days in the office. Your base location would be Thorpe Wood House in Peterborough.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Analyst to join our team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract basis.

The Accounts Payable Analyst plays a crucial role in the financial operations of Anglian Water, ensuring that all payments are processed accurately and on time. This role involves managing regular payment runs, maintaining bank and control accounts, and performing monthly reconciliations. The analyst is also responsible for administering and overseeing the procurement card program, ensuring that key controls are maintained.

In this position, you will work closely with the whole Accounts Payable Team to ensure are Suppliers are paid promptly and in compliance with company policies. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining the financial integrity and smooth operation of Anglian Water’s payment processes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • To prepare supplier payment runs on SAP and Bottomline ensuring controls are complied with. 
  • To liaise with Treasury for authorisation and to ensure that funds are available for payment runs
  • Maintain all Bank Accounts and Control Accounts to a high standard and ensure reconciliations are carried out accurately and to agreed timescales in accordance with the Common Terms Agreement. 
  • Reconcile Barclaycard control accounts and liaise with cardholders to ensure items cleared.

What does it take to be successful?

  • To be educated to at least A level standard or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
  • Experience or knowledge of procurement, reconciliation and payment processes.
  • Knowledge of reporting software e.g. Auditware (Idea), Power BI
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Apps particularly Excel and Word
  • SAP system experience.
  • Numerate, analytical and computer literate.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to provide a high level of customer service.
  • Good time management with the ability to manage high volume workloads and meet strict deadlines.
  • Team player with ability to be flexible in your approach and way of thinking to enable effective problem solving. 
  • Ability to use initiative and at times work independently.
