Job Description:
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Global Sustainability and Corporate Citizenship Group brings together TD's business, philanthropy and human capital to deliver on the bank's purpose to enrich the lives of our customers, communities and colleagues. The Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) Stakeholder Engagement team works together with business segments and corporate function partners across TD, including Sustainability and Corporate Citizenship, Investor Relations, Corporate and Public Affairs, Risk Management, and Legal, to support stakeholder understanding of TD's sustainability strategy, and enable business and corporate team understanding of current and emerging ESG topics from stakeholders.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Reporting to Senior Manager of ESG Stakeholder Engagement, the Manager, ESG Stakeholder Engagement, will support the ESG Stakeholder Engagement team by developing and managing timely responses to stakeholder inquiries, monitoring and analyzing stakeholder insights, managing ESG rater assessments, and developing communications, briefings, and reporting.
Key Accountabilities
Develop and manage responses to stakeholder inquiries on TD's ESG strategy and performance (including from non-governmental organizations (NGO), investors, ESG raters, community organizations, and customers), verify data against TD's external disclosures, and manage review process with cross-functional partners and leaders
Support the development of communications and briefings for investor relations, including investor presentations, speaking notes, Q&A documents, and investor inquiries
Support and coordinate the development of ESG content in the proxy circular
Develop stakeholder engagement content for the external ESG Reporting Suite
Develop stakeholder engagement content for ongoing partner reporting, including in support of Risk Management
Develop and coordinate quarterly and semiannual stakeholder insights reporting, working with members across TD teams
Monitor and analyze key insights from NGOs, and develop briefing and reporting to share insights with TD teams
Manage the review of assessments from key ESG raters
Manage the completion and reviews of key ESG rater assessments and surveys
Assess ongoing opportunities for new ESG rater assessments
Maintain and continue to enhance stakeholder inquiry management and ESG rater processes, including tracking and reporting of engagements, stakeholder engagement taxonomy, and governance approach
Utilize ESG monitoring tools, including Sigwatch and RepRisk, to monitor current and emerging issues
Manage ESG rater subscriptions
Support the ongoing implementation and maintenance of the ESG Stakeholder Engagement Strategy, including measurement of program effectiveness
Maintain strong understanding of TD's businesses, ESG subject matter knowledge and issues, and external environment, to deliver and ensure effective strategies and responses
Research best-in-class practices in stakeholder engagement and provide recommendations on potential enhancements
Job Requirements
Strong data and numeracy skills, including ability to analyze and manage large quantity of quantitative and qualitative data, and leverage Pivot Tables in Excel
Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with demonstrated ability in connecting and making meaning on diverse topics to develop recommendations and plans
Strong project management experience, with ability for project planning, managing multiple concurrent workstreams, and work with diverse teams to manage timelines
Strong writing skills, with ability to translate complex ideas into digestible content
Organizational awareness, resourcefulness and demonstrated relationship building skills - understanding of whom to engage in order to identify solutions and resolve issues
Demonstrated ability in collaborating with different business and functional teams across TD
Attention to detail, to ensure high-quality deliverables
Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and time management abilities; able to prioritize, managing competing priorities and escalate issues effectively
Excellent PowerPoint skills to synthesize key information for senior level consumption
Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sustainability, finance, communications, or business
Prior experience working in sustainability, investor relations, or ESG investing would be an asset
Proactive in learning about diverse areas across ESG
